Dr. Lettsome Returns as an AP Reader

Dr. Clyde A. Lettsome is serving for the second year in a row as an Advanced Placement Program (AP) Reader for the Educational Testing Service (ETS). The ETS a non-profit organization that develops, administers, and evaluates standardized tests and performance assessments.   This is a position open to individuals who are experts in their fields as well college course professors. Dr. Lettsome and other select committee members will be reading and scoring the free answer portion of the College Board’s AP Program test. Score from the AP test with determine whether or not students gain college credit for advanced courses taken in high school.

“I am honored to have been selected by ETS to be a Reader for the second consecutive year”, said Dr. Lettsome. “I look forward to working with them during this session, and I hope this continues to be a yearly working relationship.”


Dr. Lettsome has over 16 years of technical and professional experience. He is a member of the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) Software Professional Engineering Exam Writing and Review Committee. Some of his other notable accomplishments include:

  • 3 time National Science Foundation Fellow
  • Institute of Electronic and Electrical Engineers (IEEE) and Society of Photo-Optical Instrumentation Engineers (SPIE) published author
  • Senior Member of the Institute of Electronic and Electrical Engineers
  • Licensed Professional Engineer in the states of Florida (FL 58671) and Georgia (Georgia PE037411)
  • President of Calabrix Corporation when they were named one of the winners in the 2009 Office Depot “Survival of the Smartest” contests
  • Outstanding Graduate Instructor at the Georgia Institute of Technology (top five graduate engineering and technology university according to US News and World Report Graduate School edition)
