Negative Voltage?????

Setup: A few months ago, I posted a video on Youtube demonstrating how to use a dual power supply to obtain negative and positive voltage simultaneously.
XActSafeX : What is negative voltage used for?
Clyde A. Lettsome, PhD, PE, MEM Answer: That is a very good question. I asked the same question as an undergrad student. The best way to describe what negative voltage is used for is to say this, if you have an analog or mixed signal circuit that has an alternating current (AC) output, then at least one of that circuit’s supply voltages may require a negative supply voltage. For example: Some audio amplifiers, some analog comparator circuits, some operational amplifier circuits, some circuits containing PNP bipolar junction transistors (BJTs), and some differential amplifiers to name a few require a negative supply voltage.

Hope this helped.
