Thin Clients

Michael K-N: What a good browser-based thin client?
Clyde A. Lettsome, PhD, PE, MEM Answer: I must admit I have never purchased or done an in dept search on thin clients and the available options. My exposure to them has been limited to conversations with colleagues and the occasional article. Thus, when it comes to browser-based thin clients I have had less exposure.

What I do know is that there has been a few companies that have explored this and similar area of the market. Acer and Samsung have thin client options available where the browser of choice is Chrome by Google. Their machines are called Chromebooks. I do not know anything about the quality or reliability of their Chromebook options. You may want to use reviews about their laptop products as a guide to quality and compare the actual Chromebook features to determine what is best for your company.

Hope this helped.
